Scholarships that support students and carry local legacies forward
For many families and donors, creating a scholarship through the Norwin School District Community Foundation begins with someone they want to honor, remember or thank.
Lauren Steiner, Executive Director of NSDCF and Chair of the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee, works with families, alumni and community members who establish scholarships for Norwin students. Some commemorate a loved one. Others give back in appreciation for what Norwin has meant to a family or encourage students to continue their education in a particular school, program or field.
The Foundation was established in part to provide a charitable 501(c)(3) organization through which donors can create these scholarships. Each year, NSDCF then helps connect graduating Norwin High School students with the opportunities available to them.
That work resulted in 45 scholarships and 57 individual awards totaling more than $210,000 in the spring of 2026.
Behind those numbers are individual students preparing for life after Norwin and donors who have chosen to attach meaning and purpose to the support they provide. A scholarship can help with the cost of a student’s next step while allowing a person’s name, values or connection to Norwin to continue through future graduates.
