Superintendent Natalie McCracken outlines the A+ Facilities Initiative

Norwin School District Superintendent Natalie McCracken is asking the Norwin community to help support the places where students spend an important part of their school experience.

In a new video, McCracken discusses the A+ Facilities capital campaign, a partnership between the Norwin School District and the Norwin School District Community Foundation. The campaign is supporting improvements intended to give students facilities that better serve academics, the arts, athletics and other school activities.

Much of the campaign’s work is centered on two familiar Norwin facilities. Renovations to the Performing Arts Center have created an updated space for theater, band, music, production and presentations. Improvements at Knight Stadium are intended to strengthen the facility’s long-term safety and structural integrity while providing a better venue for athletics, marching band, student activities and community events.

The campaign has also created new ways for the community to take part. Bingo Bananza, Norwin Knights at PNC Park and Dine to Donate have raised money for the effort while bringing together families, alumni, businesses and other community members.

That work continues during the Norwin School District Community Foundation’s annual Days of Giving, October 5-11. Contributions made during the campaign will help support the A+ Facilities projects and the spaces Norwin students use to learn, perform and compete.
