Dan Priatko, '80 was honored as one of Norwin’s Distinguished Alumni in 2018. Many of you know Dan Priatko and his compelling life story. A Norwin High School and United States Military Academy graduate, Dan was critically injured in an automobile accident while on a return trip home from visiting West Point. Dan has never given up, and he continues to be an inspiration to many.
Thanks to the overwhelming support of the Norwin community through the purchase of our Veteran’s Day t-shirts last fall, we’re proud to announce that we were able to make a donation to the Pittsburgh chapter of Pets for Vets.
The Pittsburgh chapter of Pets for Vets is part of Animal Friends, a non-profit companion animal resource center founded in 1943 to provide a safe refuge for the animal companions of soldiers as they left for World War II.
The NSDCF would like to congratulate this year’s lucky NAFA Luck & Loot raffle winner, Jude Abraham. Jude was excited to take home $500 along with $100 in instant lottery tickets while helping support NAFA’s mission.
Proceeds from the raffle will be used to help fund the Norwin Alumni & Friends Association’s annual scholarships for graduating Norwin students.
The selection process for the Third Annual Knight of Distinguished Alumni Recognition Dinner is well under way. Norwin has a long tradition of producing outstanding alumni, but some go even further in life. This event is a celebration of Norwin’s past, present, and future as we honor the achievements of some of our most distinguished alumni and a graduating student on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Stratigos Banquet Center.
Recently, the Norwin School District Community Foundation offered shirts to the Norwin community meant to celebrate and honor the sacrifices and service of our nation’s veterans with a unique Norwin design.
At each of the Veteran’s Day assemblies held throughout the Norwin School District this year, veterans on stage were greeted with the sight of hundreds of Norwin students of all ages wearing shirts proudly declaring U__Knight__ed We Stand.
Help show your support for Norwin veterans this Veterans Day Norwin schools are proud to host annual Veterans Day assemblies to recognize the service of Norwin veterans and bring them together with students. This year, the NSDCF is offering these shirts, white in both short and long sleeve, to help show our support.
